[Solved] How to Fix Microsoft Office Error “The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)”

Microsoft Office product including Outlook for Windows terminates unexpectedly with Exception code: 0xc0000005, Fault offset: 0x000474b2, Faulting process id: 0x4cf0, the error message reads. This issue reported after Microsoft Office Update installed. The detail error message as below:

Workaround #1: Restore Microsoft Office to version 16.0.12827.20470

Step 1: Open command prompt with administrator privilege.

Step 2: Type cd “\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun”

Step 3: Press Enter key to open ClickToRun folder of Office.

Step 4: Type officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12827.20470 and press Enter key.

Step 5: Close Command Prompt.

Workaround #2: Open Microsoft Office in Safe Mode

Step 1: Press Windows + R to open the Run dialogue box.

Step 2: Type Outlook.exe /safe

Step 3: Click OK and Outlook will launch in safe mode.

Alternatively, you can open Outlook in Safe mode by holding the Ctrl key when launching the app.

Workaround #3: Use Outlook on the web or mobile clients for Android and iOS

Remark: Install the latest Microsoft Office update as the bug fix already released officially.
