How to migrate email user’s mailbox

This article describes that when meeting issues with migrating an email user’s mailbox, it is possible to set an HA cluster between two FortiMail On-Premise to migrate the mailbox.

Solution

To migrate mailbox users from one FortiMail on-premise to another FortiMail on-premise, it is possible to set up an HA cluster so the user’s mailbox can be synced and migration be successful.

Note:

  • FortiMail can be a different model but must have the same version of firmware.
  • FortiMail to be migrated will be primary and the other one who receives mailbox data will be secondar.

Step 1: Set HA settings in both FortiMails:

Step 2: Review the HA status:

Step 3: It should appear as synchronized at both FortiMails:
