How to fix “You are not the owner. Cannot repair.” error in Once Human

In Once Human, finding rare, high-level loot from Outposts is incredibly satisfying. However, relying on these weapons can lead to rapid degradation, and attempting to repair them may result in the frustrating “You are not the owner. Cannot repair.” error message.

How to fix “You are not the owner. Cannot repair." error in Once Human

The solution is simple: you can only repair gear that you crafted yourself using materials at a Workbench. Looted items are considered disposable and cannot be repaired.

So, what should you do with non-repairable gear? Dismantle it! This process provides crafting materials and semi-randomized Calibration Blueprints, which are crucial for creating effective builds.

To use Calibration Blueprints:

  1. Open the “Calibration” tab on a Gear Workbench.
  2. Select the weapon you want to enhance.
  3. Press “Replace Calibration Attributes.”
  4. Apply an applicable Calibration Blueprint to change or add optimal attributes for your build.

Dismantling a weapon rewards you with a primary Calibration Type based on the weapon type. For example, dismantling an AWS.338 – Black Panther with “[Stabilized Style]” grants a Stabilized Style Calibration Blueprint. Keep in mind that Blueprints are weapon-specific and cannot be used across different types.

Enhancing a weapon with a Calibration Blueprint costs 500 Stardust Source. Each Blueprint also includes two randomly picked attributes:

  • Crit DMG bonus
  • Elemental DMG (Blaze, Frost, Shock, Blast) bonus
  • Weakspot DMG bonus

By understanding the “you’re not the owner” message and leveraging Calibration Blueprints, you’ll be well-equipped to create powerful builds tailored to your playstyle in Once Human.
