How to create and enhance custom graphics with Gemini in Google Slides

Gemini, a feature in Google Slides, allows you to enhance your presentations by generating custom graphics. This guide explores leveraging Gemini within Google Slides to elevate your presentations with compelling visuals. Learn to refine prompts for optimal results and infuse your graphics with distinctive styles that align with your needs.

Step 1: Create an Image with Gemini

Imagine you’re a marketing manager at a pet food company, planning to use Gemini to generate engaging graphics for a team meeting.

  1. Start by opening Google Slides and either select an existing presentation or create a new one.
  2. Choose the option ‘Create image with Gemini’.
  3. In the text input field, enter your initial prompt, such as “Dog saying we can do it”.
  4. Click ‘Create’.

At this point, Gemini generates multiple images based on your prompt. However, these images might not completely align with your requirements. To generate responses that better fit your needs, you can refine the original prompt.

Step 2: Refine the Prompt

To refine the prompt, click on the field containing your prompt and make the necessary modifications.

For instance, you can provide more details about your desired visual, such as specifying the breed of the dog and the message on the sign it’s holding. A refined prompt could be: “A bulldog holding a sign with the text ‘We can do it!’”.

This gives Gemini a clearer context, resulting in images that are more closely aligned with your needs.

Step 3: Choose a Style for Your Images

You might prefer your presentation visuals to have a more stylized, less photorealistic look. Gemini allows you to add a style to your prompt, which influences the visual style of the generated outputs.

Styles such as Photography, Sketch, Vector Art, Watercolor, and more can be applied to the output visuals. After selecting a style, click ‘Create’ to generate new images in that style.

For a less photorealistic look, you might choose ‘Vector art’ as the style.

With these refinements and specifications, you can generate the perfect image for your presentation. Simply select the image to add it to your slide. By mastering prompts and exploring styles, you can harness Gemini to create impactful visuals that enhance your storytelling within Google Slides.
