Microsoft Message
Users can now start a Copilot conversation directly from Teams search on iOS and Android. Microsoft Teams mobile is adding two ways to ask Copilot from search:
- As users type two or more words in the search box, a suggestion to ask Copilot appears alongside usual search suggestions.
- After users press Enter, an Ask Copilot button remains available at the top of the search results page.
- Selecting either option opens Copilot with the user’s query, so users can get an answer and ask follow-up questions without leaving search.
Rollout Schedule
General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in mid-November 2026 and expect to complete by late November 2026.
Impact on Your Organization
Users can ask Copilot without leaving the Teams mobile search flow. They no longer need to exit search, open Copilot separately, and type their question again. Users can also ask follow-up questions in the same flow, retaining the context of what they searched for.
Action Required/Recommendations
No admin action is required. The feature turns on automatically when rollout reaches your organization and follows existing Copilot licensing and admin controls. Admins may want to inform users and update internal Teams mobile search guidance.
Compliance considerations
No compliance considerations identified. Review as appropriate for your organization.
