How to add second PSU while device is turned on

This article indicates this is possible to add a second PSU while the device is turned on.

Scope

FortiSwitch-5xxD

FortiSwitch-5xxD series PSUs are hot-swappable. they can be retrieved or installed while the device is on.

Check the status of the PSU with the command ‘diagnose sys psu status’.

Example with 2 PSUs connected:

Core1 # diagnose sys psu status
Module Status
___________________________________
PSU1 OK
PSU2 OK

Example with 1 PSU connected and:

Core1 # diagnose sys psu status

Module Status
___________________________________
PSU1 OK
PSU2 Not OK
