Windows 11 Insider Build has a new design to increase spacing between items showing in the folder. Luckily there is an option called Compact view, which will decrease the spacing between items and allows users to cover more distance with the least amount of effort. This article will show you two methods to enable Compact view with increase spacing between the items in the folder.

Method 1: Using the View tab in the Menu bar
Step 1: Open a folder in Windows Explorer.
Step 2: Click on the Layout and view option (display as 4 horizontal lines stacking) on the menu bar.
Step 3: Click on the Compact view option. The spacing between the items in the folder will decrease immediately.
Method 2: Using Folder Options
Step 1: Open a folder in Windows Explorer.
Step 2: Click on the See more option (display as 3 dots) on the menu bar.
Step 3: Click on the Options to open the Folder Options dialog box.
Step 4: Switch to the View tab.
Step 5: Check the Decrease space between items (Compact View) option.
Step 6: Click on the Apply and OK button.
