Finding the Tinker’s tools in Path of Exile 2 can feel like chasing a ghost. You think you’ve got it, but then—poof! It’s just out of reach. This quest is bugged, but there’s a way to navigate through the confusion. Let’s break it down.
- You can finish the quest without actually getting the item. You’ll see the quest icon gray out on your map, which means you’ve done something right, but don’t expect to hold the item in your inventory.
- Before diving in, make sure you can handle the Quarry area. If you’re not ready yet, take some time to level up. Trust me, it makes everything smoother. Once you’re good to go, head into the Quarry.
- Run through until you hit the second part of the area. You’ll know you’re there when you cross a bridge and see some Quarry work below. Keep your eyes peeled for a book—it’s your guidepost.
- Now, look for a specific spot: it’s always near a bridge leading to a checkpoint with some tents and a chest nearby.
- When you loot that chest, don’t be surprised if it’s empty or filled with gold. That’s just how it goes most of the time. But here’s where patience pays off: after several tries—maybe seven or eight—you might snag an item. If you do, congratulations! You’ve completed that pesky quest.
- If you’re rolling with friends, there’s a twist. Only the player who first loots the item from the chest will complete their quest. So, split up and tackle different instances if you’re in a group. This way, everyone has a fair shot at getting what they need.
- If luck isn’t on your side and you still don’t have that item, no worries! Head back to the Waypoint and return to town. Use the instance manager to load a fresh instance of the Quarry. It’s like hitting reset on a game—you get another chance at that elusive chest.
Once you get your hands on any white gear from this process, you’re golden! We’ve tried this method a few times and had success with different gear types each time. Just keep at it!
