How to Remove License Expired Notifications on FortiGate Dashboard

This article discusses how to remove the expired notifications on the FortiGate Dashboard.

Solution

When a license expires, three places will notify it:

  • The dashboard.
  • The bell notification.
  • FortiGuard.

Step 1: Under to Dashboard > Status > Licenses Widget:

It is possible to remove some of the expiry notifications such as IPS, Antivirus, and Web Filters from the Dashboard by disabling the features under Feature Visibility.

As an example, to remove the web filter license, navigate to System > Feature Visibility and uncheck Web Filter.

After removing this feature, the Web Filter license is no longer warning us in the Dashboard:

The bell notifications and FortiGuard expiry notifications will continue to appear and cannot be removed starting from v5.6.0 and onward.
