Spotify’s desktop application now includes a Mini Player feature. This tool allows you to manage your music without interrupting your workflow. The Mini Player is versatile, offering a range of shapes, each with a unique aesthetic and set of controls.

Adjusting the Mini Player’s Size and Shape
The Mini Player icon appears in the bottom right corner of the Spotify interface, nestled between the volume and full-screen controls, as soon as you start playing a track. Clicking this icon opens the Mini Player.
The Mini Player stays at the forefront of your screen, allowing you to switch tracks, pause or play music, like songs, and modify the volume. You can freely adjust the Mini Player into various shapes and sizes. The three primary shapes, each with its own set of controls, are as follows:
Square
The Square shape is the Mini Player’s standard configuration. In this layout, the album cover is prominently displayed. Controls appear when you hover over the Mini Player. These controls include options to like the track, shuffle and loop the playlist, switch tracks, pause or play music, and adjust the volume. You can enlarge the shape by dragging the corners outward.
Rectangle
The Mini Player can also be transformed into a rectangular shape by dragging the corner. This shape can be oriented vertically or horizontally. The controls are identical to those in the Square layout and appear when you hover over the Mini Player. A compact rectangle layout is also available, which displays all controls without the need to hover over the Mini Player.
Sleek Bar
For those with limited screen space, the Sleek Bar provides the most compact layout. While this layout does limit the visibility of all controls, it is an excellent option for those with limited screen space.
Modifying Font Size and Playback Controls
The Mini Player’s customization options extend beyond its shape. You can also adjust the size of the playback controls and the font to suit your preferred layout. To do this, click inside the Mini Player and then press Ctrl and +/- or hold Ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel.
The Mini Player retains your layout within the same session, even if you close and reopen it. However, if you close the Spotify app and open the Mini Player in a different session, it will revert to the default Square shape.
To return to the Spotify app, click on the song title, album, or album art.
