Google Photos offers a range of features, including a Locked Folder for added security. This folder keeps selected images and videos private, hidden from the main app view, and protected behind your device’s screen lock.
To set up automatic saving to the Locked Folder:
- Open Google Photos and go to Library > Utilities.
- Select Locked Folder and set it up.
- Choosing whether to back up this folder.
- In your Camera app, long press on the viewfinder and choose Locked Folder.
From now on, all newly taken photos and videos will be automatically saved to the Locked Folder in Google Photos, enhancing their privacy and security.
To remove a photo or video from the Locked Folder in Google Photos and make it accessible:
- Open Google Photos and navigate to the Locked Folder.
- Select the photo or video you want to move.
- Tap “Move” and choose a new destination.
- Confirm the move, and the item will no longer be in the Locked Folder.
To revert the photos and videos back to being saved in the public gallery:
- Open the Camera app.
- Long press on the viewfinder.
- Select “Photo Gallery.”
This will undo the setting that saves your media directly to the Locked Folder in Google Photos. If you have any questions about these steps, feel free to ask in the comments.
