Unlock the hidden feature to save and find specific locations in Google Maps on Android.
- Launch the Google Maps app on your Android device.
- Tap the blue dot that represents your current location on the map. This will open a menu with various options.
- Look for the “Save parking” option within the menu. It’s conveniently located in a horizontally scrolling bar of buttons near the top of the screen. Don’t be misled by the name; although it’s meant for parking, you can use it to save any location you want.
- Tap the “Save parking” option, and Google Maps will remember your current location. You can now easily find it later.
- If you want to enhance your memory, swipe up on the bar that says “Parking location” at the bottom of the screen. Here, you can:
- Enter notes about your saved location (e.g., which level you parked on, nearby landmarks).
- Attach photos (maybe silly faces in front of the place).
- Set an alert to remind you about the location after a specific time.
- When you’re ready to return to your car or any other spot you’ve saved, simply tap the same “Parking location” bar at the bottom of the Maps app. Alternatively, look for the “Parking location” notification anywhere on your phone.
Remember, Google Maps isn’t just for navigation; it’s also your personal location memory bank!
