This guide dives into the essentials of operating the Paper Factory in Farming Simulator 25. Let’s break down the process into manageable steps, ensuring you understand how to navigate this production facility effectively.

Place and Buy the Paper Mill
First off, let’s talk about where to find and how to acquire the paper mill. If you’re exploring Huton Panai, you won’t find a paper mill there, but River Ben Springs has one. If you’re keen on buying it, just follow these steps:
- Use your map to find the paper mill icon.
- Hit the visit button to approach the mill.
- Look for the wrench icon, typically near your spawn point, and confirm your purchase.
If you decide to sell it later, go back into the build menu, select the production building, and choose to sell. Just remember, selling usually results in a loss.
If you want to place your own mill:
- Go into Build Mode.
- Scroll under factories until you find the paper mill.
- It costs $525,000—select a spot and place it down.
Be cautious; if you exit the build menu after placing it and then try to sell, you’ll incur a loss.
Production Inputs
The paper factory is straightforward—it has one input and two outputs:
- Input: Wood
- Outputs: Carton rolls and paper rolls
To get wood into the factory:
- Move logs near the designated dump icon.
- Approach the icon and press R to enter them into production.
If you’re unsure about moving wood, check out my forestry guide for tips on gathering and transporting logs.
Use the Paper Factory
Accessing the production menu can be done in three ways:
- Go to Productions in your menu.
- pproach the factory and hit R on the wrench icon.
- Click on your factory location on the map and select manage.
Once in the production menu, you can toggle between making carton rolls and paper rolls. Activate whichever recipe you want to run by clicking “active.”
Understand Production Cycles
The factory operates on cycles per month based on your game settings:
- If set to one day per month, it runs 24 cycles daily.
- Adjust according to your gameplay preferences.
For example:
- To make 215 L of carton rolls, you’ll need 420 L of wood.
- For 230 L of paper rolls, it requires 535 L of wood.
Manage Outputs
You can control how products are handled once they’re made:
- Storing: Keeps finished products until moved.
- Selling: Automatically sells but takes a cut (20-40% fee).
- Distributing: Moves products to another factory (currently not applicable for carton or paper rolls).
Move Pallets
To handle pallets in-game, use equipment like:
- Tractors with front loaders
- Forklifts
- Wheel loaders
Make sure to equip your tractor with a front loader if necessary; check compatibility before purchasing attachments.
Profitability Insights
After setting everything up, monitor your outputs closely. The larger pallets of carton rolls and paper rolls can be cumbersome but are essential for maximizing profits.
To sell these products effectively:
- Check market prices via the prices menu.
- Transport them to a buyer that accepts them.
This guide should help you navigate through operating your paper factory smoothly while maximizing efficiency and profitability in Farming Simulator 25.
