Method 1: Adjust Settings in Edge

This is the easiest way to enable or disable the feature directly from your browser settings.

  1. Open Microsoft Edge on your computer.
  2. Type edge://settings/search into the address bar and press Enter.
  3. Scroll down to Search Suggestions and Filters.
  4. Find the toggle labeled “Show Me Trending Searches from Microsoft Bing.”
  5. Switch it on (to enable) or off (to disable).

Done! No need to restart your browser and it works immediately.

Method 2: Use Registry Editor (Advanced)

If you’re comfortable tweaking system settings, the Registry Editor offers another way to control this feature. Be cautious, though—editing the registry incorrectly can cause problems.

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
  2. Type regedit and click OK.
  3. Click “Yes” if prompted by User Account Control (UAC).
  4. Navigate to this path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
  5. Look for a key called AddressBarTrendingSuggestEnabled. If it doesn’t exist, create it by right-clicking, selecting New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, and naming it as above.
  6. Double-click the key and set its value:
    • 0 = Disable Trending Searches
    • 1 = Enable Trending Searches
  7. Click OK and close the Registry Editor.

Changes take effect after restarting Edge.
