Are we getting Windows 12 in 2026 or just a better Windows 11?
The Truth About Windows 12
A recent article said Windows 12 was coming out this year. This article spread very fast on the internet. It said the new system would use a lot of artificial intelligence (AI) and might cost money every month. Many people saw this news on Google and Reddit.
However, a reporter named Zac Bowden said this news is not true. He talks to people who work at Microsoft. Here is what is actually happening:
- There is no Windows 12 coming in 2026.
- Microsoft wants to fix Windows 11 instead.
- They plan to remove extra AI tools that slow things down.
- They want to fix problems that users do not like.
- They will bring back old features, like moving the taskbar to different sides of the screen.
Fake News from AI
The article that started this rumor got many facts wrong. It used old project names and old pictures from years ago. Bowden thinks a computer program, or AI, wrote the article. It used old internet posts and pretended they were new news.
It is funny because many people were angry about the fake article. They were angry that Microsoft was using too much AI. But they were reading a fake article that was written by AI.
If Windows 12 does come out, it will not be until 2027 or later. Microsoft has too much work to do on Windows 11 right now.
This is not the first time fake AI news has tricked people. Another fake article recently said the phone company OnePlus was closing. People must be careful about what they read online.
