Problem
Many users have reported that Spotify intermittently pauses or skips randomly after playing every song or two, requiring the user to manually tap Play to resume playback. This issue remain happen despite clearing the cache, deleting and reinstalling the Spotify app. To resolve Spotify app keeps pausing or skipping playback issue, please refer to the solutions outlined below.
Solution 1: Sign Out Everywhere
- Log in to Spotify.com.
- On the Account Overview page, scroll down and click Sign Out Everywhere button. This will force sign out your Spotify account from all instance of Spotify on all devices that you have signed in before.
- Open Spotify app on your smartphone or computer and sign in again.
Solution 2: Switch off High Quality Streaming or use High (Ogg Vorbis 160kbit/s) Music Quality Settings
For Desktop
- Click the arrow in the top-right corner and select Settings.
- Under Music Quality, switch High quality streaming (Premium only) to off.
For Android, iPhone and iPad
- Tap Home or Your Library > Settings > Music Quality.
- Select Other options except Very high.
Solution 3: Disable Battery Saver Mode for Spotify App
- Go to Settings > Battery.
- Tap the menu button and select Battery optimization.
- Open dropdown menu at the top and select All apps.
- Select Spotify app and choose Don’t Optimize.
Note: for other third party battery saver app or memory cleaner app, add an exclusion for spotify app.
Solution 4: Revoke Access to Sonos
- Login to Spotify.
- Go to Account > Apps.
- Click Revoke Access next to Sonos.
