Solution 1: Re-enabling Outlook Indexing
Step 1: Open Outlook 2016.
Steps 2: Go to File > Options > Search > Indexing Options > Modify.
Step 3: Uncheck Microsoft Outlook entry from Indexing.
Step 4: Close Outlook 2016.
Step 5: Wait for 5 minutes, check in the task manager that Outlook.exe is not in the processes tab
Step 6: Now open Outlook 2016 again and go back to Indexing Location settings to select Outlook 2016 for indexing.

Step 1: Exit Outlook 2016.
Step 2: Navigate to below path to execute Inbox Repair tool Scanpst.exe:

Step 3: In the Inbox Repair tool, type the path and the file name of personal folders (.pst) file or click Browse to locate the file by using the Windows file system and then click Start.
Step 4: After you run the Inbox Repair tool, you can start Outlook and recover repaired items.
Solution 3: Rebuild Index
Step 1: Open Outlook 2016.
Step 2: Go to File > Options > Search on the left hand side.
Step 3: Click Indexing Options button > Advanced button > Index Settings tab > Rebuild button.
Step 4: Wait until rebuild process finished then restart Outlook 2016.
Solution 4: Extend computer time-out / sleep-time
If you have very large mailbox, indexing rebuild process unable to complete while PC goes to sleep mode.
Step 1: Go to Start > Settings > System > Power > Sleep.
Step 2: Change Screen and Sleep settings to large number such as 5 hours.
Step 3: Perform rebuild index for Outlook 2016.
Step 4: Change back the sleep time to something normal.
Solution 5: Quick Repair
Step 1: Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > highlight Office product.
Step 2: Click Change at the top then click Quick Repair.
Solution 6: Update Office 2016 to 16.0.6868.2060 or a later version
Step 1: Open any Office application, such as Outlook or Word.
Step 2: Click File > Office Account or Account.
Step 3: View the version that is listed under Office Updates. If the version is not at 16.0.6868.2060 or a later version, click Update Options > Update Now.
Solution 7: Make sure all Outlook 2016 add-ins updated
Go to the add-in manufacturer website or contact the manufacturer for more information about how to do this.
Solution 8: Disable Outlook 2016 add-in manually
Step 1: Open Outlook 2016.
Step 2: Go to File > Options > Add-ins.
Step 3: In Manage list select COM Add-ins > Go.
Step 4: Clear the check for add-in > OK.
Step 5: Restart Outlook 2016.
