MC272167: Microsoft Teams: Pin chat messages

Users can now pin a specific message, providing chat members with quick access to critical content at anytime. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 82584.

Pin a Teams chat message to drive awareness and provide the chat members with quick access to important content. Pinning will help your team stay in sync on what’s and relevant in a timely manner.

When this will happen

  • We expect this to rollout to Production in mid-August and expect the rollout to be completed by late August
  • We expect this to rollout to GCC in late-August and expect the rollout to be completed by late September

How this will affect your organization

Any member of a chat will be able to pin/unpin any specific chat message to the top of the chat header, for all members to see. Users can click on the pinned message to go to the original message in the chat thread. Currently, only a single message can be pinned at a time.
