Microsoft Message
Microsoft Teams is expanding the Invite to register experience for Teams events with registration enabled. Organizers can select people to receive an email invitation with a link to register for the event.
Rollout Schedule
General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): We will begin rolling out in mid-November 2026 and expect to complete by late November 2026.
Impact on Your Organization
Invite to register will be available across event access types, including public, organization-wide, and events limited to specific people and groups. For public and organization-wide events, sending an invitation does not change who is eligible to register. For events limited to specific people and groups, the selected audience continues to determine registration eligibility.
This update gives organizers a consistent way to proactively invite their intended audience to register for an event.
Action Required/Recommendations
No special preparation is required. However, if your tenant does not have a custom domain configured for M365 notifications, this capability will be restricted due to spam concerns. Admins should configure their custom domain for M365 notifications to allow full use of this feature.
Compliance considerations
