MC1532259 Retirement of Translate slides in PowerPoint Live

Summary

  • Microsoft Teams meetings will retire the PowerPoint Live **Translate slides** option, so attendees will no longer be able to translate shared slides into another language from the meeting view menu.
  • The change affects only meeting attendees who use this specific PowerPoint Live translation feature; presenter-facing PowerPoint Live functionality and other attendee viewing options remain available.
  • There is no admin setting to control or delay this change, and no admin action is required for the service itself.
  • Microsoft expects limited organizational impact because this translation option is used in only a small share of PowerPoint Live sessions.
  • IT should notify presenters and update any internal training or help content that references Translate slides.
