Microsoft Message

We’re introducing Combined access, a new delegation option in Microsoft Viva Insights Copilot Analytics.

Combined access provides delegates with access to both company-level and group-level analytics experiences through a single delegation setting. This simplifies delegation management for leaders who currently have access to both levels of analytics and helps ensure delegates can access the full set of relevant analytics experiences, including the Consumption Dashboard.

Rollout schedule

General Availability (Worldwide)>: Beginning in >mid-September 2026> and expected to complete by >late September 2026>

MSIT Deployment:> Began in >early September 2026>

Impact on your organization

Who is affected

This change applies only to leaders who:

  • Have both company-level and group-level analytics access.
  • Have one or more delegates currently configured with Your company access.

Platforms and services

  • Microsoft Viva Insights
  • Copilot Analytics

What will happen

Today, delegates assigned the Your company access level can access company-level analytics experiences but may not have access to the Consumption Dashboard.

After rollout:

  • Existing delegates of leaders who have both company-level and group-level analytics access will automatically be moved from Your company access to Combined access.
  • These delegates will gain access to the Consumption Dashboard as part of the Combined access experience.

The available delegation options will be:

  • Your group: Provides access to group-level analytics experiences.
  • Your company: Provides access to company-level analytics experiences.
  • Combined access: Provides access to both company-level and group-level analytics experiences through a single delegation setting, including access to the Consumption Dashboard.

This change is enabled automatically for affected leaders and delegates.

Action required and recommendations

No administrative action is required.

We recommend that affected leaders:

  • Review their current delegate configurations after rollout.
  • Evaluate whether delegates should continue to have access to the Consumption Dashboard through the new Combined access setting.

If a leader does not want a delegate to access the Consumption Dashboard, they can change that delegate’s access level from Combined access back to Your company after rollout.

Compliance considerations

Question: Does the change modify how users access customer data or organizational information?

Answer: Yes. Existing delegates of leaders who have both company-level and group-level analytics access will automatically move from >Your company> access to >Combined access>, which grants access to additional analytics experiences, including the Consumption Dashboard.

Question: Does the change alter how existing customer data is accessed or processed?

Answer: Yes. Delegates who are automatically moved to >Combined access> will have access to additional analytics experiences that present existing organizational analytics data. No new data is introduced as part of this change.

Question: Can administrators or users control the feature?

Answer: Yes. After rollout, leaders can change a delegate’s access level from >Combined access> back to >Your company> if they do not want that delegate to have access to the Consumption Dashboard.

Question: Does the change affect permissions, roles, or delegated access?

Answer: Yes. The update automatically changes the delegation model for certain existing delegates by expanding their access from company-level analytics only to both company-level and group-level analytics experiences through the new >Combined access> setting.
