We are introducing Communicator, a new Microsoft Teams app that enables designated communicators to create, publish, and manage organizational announcements and operational communications at scale. Communicator is designed for scenarios such as organizational announcements, training updates, compliance notifications, safety alerts, store and field operations updates, and other action-oriented communications.
With Communicator, organizations can deliver targeted communications directly in Microsoft Teams, request acknowledgments or required actions, and monitor message delivery and acknowledgment status through built-in reporting capabilities.
Rollout schedule
- Public Preview (Worldwide): Rollout begins mid-August 2026 and is expected to complete by mid-January 2027.
- General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout begins mid-August 2026 and is expected to complete by late January 2027.

- Review Teams app permission policies, app setup policies, and app availability settings to ensure the appropriate users have access to the correct Communicator experiences.
- Update internal documentation and training materials for users responsible for organizational communications.
