Updated October 17, 2025: Users will be required to have the latest update (v1.2508.17) of the Intune app for Linux by November 17, 2025. This update is available for Ubuntu and RHEL on packages.microsoft.com. For more details refer to Get the Microsoft Intune app for Linux.

How this will affect your organization

User impact: Linux devices that are configured to check for app updates will receive the Microsoft Intune app update automatically. Users can also manually update the app or a script can be deployed via Intune to update the app. Linux devices that fail to update by the deadline may become noncompliant and fail to sync with Intune.

What you need to do to prepare

Ensure that enrolled Linux devices have the latest update of the Microsoft Intune app. To manually update the app, refer to the instructions in Update app for Ubuntu Desktop and Update app for RedHat Enterprise Linux. If you have a helpdesk, make them aware of the minimum version requirement for enrolled Linux devices.
