Is the New Windows Copy & Search a Genius Trick to Eliminate Annoying Clicks?

Are You Tired of Slow Searches? Could This Amazing Windows 11 Feature Be the Perfect Fix?

Microsoft is testing new ways to make using your computer easier and more reliable. One update helps you search faster, while another helps find problems with your computer’s memory.

A Faster Way to Search

Searching for text you just copied can feel slow. You have to copy the words, click the search bar, paste the words, and then press enter. Microsoft wants to make this process quicker with a new feature called Copy & Search.

Here is how it works:

  1. You copy any text from a document or webpage.
  2. The Windows Search bar on your Taskbar will notice you have copied something.
  3. It will then show you a suggestion that says “Search copied text.” A small paste icon will also appear inside the search bar.
  4. You can click that icon to instantly paste the text and run the search.

This turns a multi-step task into a single click. It makes searching for copied information much more efficient. This feature is currently being tested by people in the Windows 11 Insider Program.

A New Tool for PC Health

Microsoft is also introducing a feature to help troubleshoot computer problems called Proactive Memory Diagnostics. Your computer’s memory is essential for it to run properly. This tool helps check if the memory is working as it should.

If your computer has an issue, like an unexpected restart, a notification may appear when you turn it back on. This message will offer to run a quick memory scan. If you agree, the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool will run the next time you reboot your PC. After the scan, it will tell you if it discovered and fixed any problems.

Who Cannot Use This Feature Yet

This new memory diagnostic tool is not yet available for all computers. The limitations include:

  • Devices that use ARM64 processors.
  • Computers that have Administrator Protection enabled.
  • Systems using BitLocker encryption without Secure Boot.
