iPhone remembers where you’ve been, how often you go there, and even the routes you take. Apple calls this feature Significant Locations. It’s just a tool that tracks your movements to offer tailored suggestions. Some people love it; others find it creepy. If you’re in the second group, let’s fix it.
Steps to Disable Significant Locations in iPhone
- Open Settings on iPhone.
- Scroll and tap Privacy & Security.
- Select Location Services from the list.
- Scroll down and tap System Services.
- Find and tap Significant Locations, you may need to enter passcode or use Face/Touch ID.
- Toggle off the switch next to Significant Locations.
Why Turn Off Significant Locations?
- Privacy Concerns: Even though Apple encrypts the data, constant tracking feels invasive.
- Battery Life: Background tracking can drain battery faster.
- Peace of Mind: Knowing iPhone isn’t keeping tabs on your every move feels freeing.
If you travel a lot or rely on location-based reminders, Significant Locations feature can be helpful. But if that’s not your thing, turning it off won’t affect most apps.
