The Hellfire Torch is dropped by none other than the Cursed Captain himself, who can be found lurking in the Cursed Ship in the Second Sea. The Cursed Captain is a raid boss, which means you’ll need to rally a squad of fellow players to take him down.
Before you charge in guns blazing, make sure you’re prepared. The Cursed Captain is at least Lv. 1325, so I highly recommend getting your character to Lv. 1300 or higher before attempting this feat.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Head to the Cursed Ship location in the Second Sea. The Cursed Captain makes his grand entrance every 12 minutes or so in real-time.
- Keep an eye on your chat log for the ominous red text, “A shiver runs down your spine…”
- Give it your all and take down the Cursed Captain with your team.
- If you miss the battle, don’t fret! Simply hop to another server with a different timer.
- Rinse and repeat until that shiny Hellfire Torch is yours. The drop chance is around 5-9%, so stay persistent!
Now, here’s the crucial part – once you’ve got the Hellfire Torch, DO NOT die or leave the game. This item can’t be stored, so you’ll lose it if you’re not careful.
After obtaining the torch, make a beeline for Experimic in the Cursed Ship’s kitchen. Sell him the Hellfire Torch along with 100 Ectoplasms, and voila! The Ghoul race is yours. If you don’t have enough Ectoplasm, no worries – you can hand them over separately.
