The Horse Guai Ma Tianba quest in Black Myth Wukong spans multiple regions. To complete it and unlock the Dark Thunder transformation and Urge Unfulfilled achievement, you must find and talk to Horse Guai in all locations. This guide shows you where to find him in each chapter.

Chapter 1: Black Wind Mountain > Bamboo Grove > Back Hills
- From the shrine, go left and down the path, sticking to the left side.
- Enter a small cave to meet Horse Guai for the first time.
Chapter 2: Yellow Wind Ridge > Sandgate Village > Village Entrance
- Turn 180 degrees from the shrine and walk towards the broken hut.
- Take the dirt path on the right and enter the foliage.
- Find a shabby wooden fence on the left, enter, and turn left around the huts.
- Go through the temple archway, straight, keeping right, to find Horse Guai leaning against a pillar.
Chapter 3: The New West > New Thunderclap Temple > Temple Entrance
- Go to where you fight Non-Void, but instead of entering the boss stairs, exit the wooden door at the top of the temple.
- Turn left and find Horse Guai behind a left-side pillar at the end of the corridor.
Chapter 4: The Webbed Hollow > Middle Hollow
- From the shrine, go right, jump down the wooden planks, and pass through white sacs on the right.
- Jump down to the pile of skulls(?), defeat the Centipede Guai boss, and exit through the leftmost hole.
- Keep right, then left until you see hanging torches and a large white sac.
- Break the sac to find Horse Guai.
Chapter 5: Flaming Mountains > Furnace Valley > Valley Entrance
- Defeat Misty Cloud, Cloudy Mist, and Keeper of Flaming Mountains/Yin-Yang Fish bosses.
- Return to Valley Entrance shrine, go left, and find a path sloping down on the right.
- Cross the lava stream, go straight, sticking to the right, and find a large dragon/lion statue.
- Pull the thread from the statue’s mouth to get a whip and the Dark Thunder spell.
Follow these steps to find Horse Guai in all locations, complete the quest, and unlock the Dark Thunder transformation and achievement.
