Here’s your guide to victory:
- Equip the Fireproof Mantle: Found on a hanging corpse near the third bell before battling the Black Wind King, this gear grants fire damage immunity. Claim it after defeating the Elder Jinchi secret boss.
- Prepare for a single phase: Black Bear Guai has one phase, but its fire attacks can inflict the Burn status. Continuously roll on the ground or use Body-Cooling Powder to counter this.
- Dodge claw attacks and leaping moves: The boss primarily attacks with its claws and may perform a leaping move. Evade these attacks patiently.
- Immobilize the black smoke cloud: When Black Bear Guai turns into a black smoke cloud, use the Immobilize spell to force it back into its original form.
- Be patient and strike strategically: Wait for the boss to attack, avoid its combos, and then land your own hits. Conserve stamina by not chasing the monster.
- Beware of the ground slam: At half health, Black Bear Guai slams its paws, sending fire jets around it. Quickly move away to avoid damage.
