How to Stack Similar Photos in Google Photos

Google Photos, the leading photo-sharing and storage service, offers a robust 15GB of free storage and a host of dynamic features. Among the latest additions is the Photos Stack feature, which organizes similar photos into a single group for a streamlined gallery experience.

This feature showcases only the primary photo, with the rest neatly grouped underneath as the ‘Top Pick’—indicated by a number on the photo’s top right corner, representing the total count within the stack.

Key Points:

  • The ‘Top Pick’ photo is selected automatically by Google Photos.
  • Each stack can contain up to 100 photos.
  • The feature is applicable only to photos stored locally on your device, not those uploaded to the cloud.
