How to Grow and Harvest Cotton in Farming Simulator 25?

Starting off, field preparation is key. I’ve chosen a small field for this project. It’s already prepped, but let’s dive into what you need to consider during this stage. If you’re not using a direct drill cedar, you’ll need to prepare the soil properly.

How to Grow and Harvest Cotton in Farming Simulator 25?

Field Preparation Essentials

  • Equipment Options: You can use various tools like a plow, cultivator, disc harrow, or subsoiler. Each tool has its purpose, and I recommend checking out my field prep guide for detailed differences.
  • Plowing State: This is crucial! If you neglect the plowing state, your yield will suffer. To check if plowing is needed, go into your settings and see if periodic plowing is enabled. If it’s on, you’ll need to address it with the right equipment.

Next up, let’s talk about stones in your field. If you have stones turned on, certain equipment will bring them up from the ground. You can either roll them back in or pick them out with a stone picker. Stones won’t affect yield directly but can damage your equipment.

Lime Requirements

Check if your field needs lime. If it has a bluish tint, it’s time to spread some lime. Grab a lime spreader from the store and apply it evenly across your field.

Plant Cotton

Once the field is prepped, it’s time to plant cotton. You’ll need a regular planter that can handle cotton seeds. There are several planters available; make sure to choose one that specifies cotton.

Steps for Planting:

  1. Buy seeds and fertilizer from the store.
  2. Load the seeds into your planter.
  3. Set your planter to cotton and start planting.

Keep an eye on the seasonal calendar! Cotton can only be planted in February and March if you’re playing with seasons turned on.

Crop Care

After planting, monitor your crop’s growth. It requires two states of fertilizer for optimal yield. However, you must wait a day after planting before applying more fertilizer.

Fertilizing Options:

  • Use solid or liquid fertilizers depending on your equipment.
  • Apply herbicides or use weeders to manage weeds effectively.

Harvest Cotton

When it’s time to harvest, ensure you’re within the right window—October and November for those playing with seasons enabled. You’ll need specialized harvesting equipment for cotton.

Harvesting Steps:

  1. Unfold your harvester.
  2. Begin harvesting when the crop is ready.

This guide should help you navigate through growing cotton successfully in Farming Simulator 25! Remember, preparation and care are essential for achieving that bountiful harvest you’re aiming for!
