Want to Disable YouTube Watch History? Here’s How to Do It Fast!
Sometimes, you just want a little privacy. Maybe you don’t want YouTube tracking what you watch. No judgment here—let’s fix that.
Follow these steps to stop YouTube from saving your watch history:
- Look for the YouTube app on phone or go to the website on computer.
- Tap or click the Profile icon in the top-right corner. It’s usually a circle with your picture or initial.
- Once you’re in your account, locate the gear icon labeled “Settings.”
- Scroll down until you see an option like “Manage History” or “History & Privacy.” It’s usually in the middle of the settings menu.
- Inside this section, there’s an option that says “Saving Your YouTube History.” Tap it, and you’ll see a toggle or button to turn it off. Click it.
- If you don’t want to turn it off completely but need a temporary break, there’s also an option to pause history instead.
It’s quick, simple, and puts you back in control of your account.
