How Can You Stop Arma Reforger Mods From Hogging on C Drive Space?

Struggling with Arma Reforger Mods? Fix C Drive Issues Fast!

Arma Reforger likes to save its mods straight onto C: drive, specifically in the Documents\My Games\ArmaReforger\addons folder. That’s fine if your C: drive is massive, but if you’re like me and working with a small 120GB drive already packed with essentials, it’s a problem. Here’s how to take control and move those files somewhere else.

How Can You Stop Arma Reforger Mods From Hogging on C Drive Space?

Step-by-Step Guide to Free Up C Drive

  1. Create a folder named addons on a different drive. For example, I used my D: drive, so the path looks like D:\addons.
  2. Open your Steam library.
  3. Right-click on Arma Reforger.
  4. Select Properties.
  5. Under the Launch Options field, type this command: -addonDownloadDir D:\addons -addonsDir D:\addons
  6. Replace D:\addons with the path to your new folder if you chose something different.
  7. If mods are already clogging up C drive, don’t panic. Just copy everything from Documents\My Games\ArmaReforger\addons to the new folder you created.
  8. Once copied, delete the old files from the original location on C drive.
  9. Launch the game, and it’ll now download mods to your new folder instead of hogging precious space on your main drive.

Arma Reforger doesn’t give you an easy option to change where mods go by default, but tweaking the launch options forces it to follow your custom directory. It’s simple, effective, and saves you from unnecessary headaches.
