OpenAI released a new feature called “Canvas,” which offers a shared, editable page where ChatGPT can mimic a human collaborator and repeatedly edit or provide feedback on specific parts of text and code.
Note: The Canvas feature is available to ChatGPT Plus and Team users. Enterprise and Edu users will get access this week, with plans to extend it to Free users after beta.
- Go to ChatGPT and click on the model name in the top-left corner.
- Select “GPT-4 with Canvas.”
- Ask for a brief write-up on any topic.
- Go to the magic pencil icon in the bottom right corner and select ‘Suggest Edits.’ ChatGPT will offer inline suggestions and feedback that you can apply with a single click.
- You can also select the other options to edit the text as you prefer:
- Add emojis: Adds relevant emojis for emphasis and color.
- Add final polish: Checks for grammar, clarity, and consistency.
- Change reading level: Adjusts the reading level, from Kindergarten to Graduate School.
- Adjust the length: Edits the document length to be shorter or longer.
