Can You Fix the Print to PDF Problem in Windows 11’s June 2025 Update?

Is the Windows 11 Print to PDF Bug Hurting Your Work? Here’s a Simple Fix!

The June 2025 update for Windows 11 brought some problems. One big problem is with the Print to PDF feature. This feature lets you save files as PDFs, but now it doesn’t work right for some people. If you use games like Fortnite or any game with Easy Anti-Cheat, you might see other problems too.

Microsoft said this bug mostly affects enterprise users. That means it’s more likely to show up on work computers, not home ones. The company plans to fix it in the July update.

How Do You Know If You’re Affected?

  • The Print to PDF option disappears from the Settings app.
  • You can’t find it under Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • You can’t use Print to PDF in any program.

If you try to turn Print to PDF back on using PowerShell or Command Prompt, it won’t work. You might see an error code: 0x800f0922.

Why Did This Happen?

Windows uses a folder called DriverStore to keep drivers safe. Drivers help your computer talk to printers and other devices. The Print to PDF driver lives here. The update broke how Windows finds or uses this driver.

How Can You Try to Fix It?

Here’s a step-by-step way to try and get Print to PDF working again:

  1. Open Windows Terminal, Command Prompt, or PowerShell.
  2. Turn off the Print to PDF feature:
    Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features
  3. Turn it back on:
    Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features

Or, use Settings:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click on Optional Features.
  3. Find Print to PDF and turn it on.

If these steps don’t work, you might need to wait for the next update.

What If Nothing Works?

Microsoft made a patch called KB5060829 to fix the Print to PDF bug. Right now, this patch is optional. You can install it, but some people say it causes other problems, like cursor lag when you use Alt + Tab during games.

If you don’t want to risk more bugs, you can wait. Microsoft will include the fix in the July update. Then, your computer should update on its own and fix the Print to PDF problem.

Other Problems from the June 2025 Update

  • Some games don’t work right, especially those with Easy Anti-Cheat.
  • Computers may run slower.
  • The optional patch can cause cursor lag during gaming.

Tips to Stay Productive

  • Save your files in other formats if you can’t use Print to PDF.
  • Use a third-party PDF printer as a temporary fix.
  • Check for updates after July to get the permanent fix.
  • Talk to your IT team if you’re at work and need help.

Even though this bug is annoying, Microsoft is working on a fix. The problem should go away soon with the next update. In the meantime, there are ways to work around it and keep your files safe. Stay patient, and your Print to PDF will be back soon!
