LinkedIn users recently found out that their personal data might be used to train AI models. This came as a surprise, leaving many people wondering how they could control their data. LinkedIn’s AI-based services aim to provide career tools, like job recommendations and skills matching. But some users are uneasy, feeling their personal data should stay private.

If you’d rather not have LinkedIn use your data for AI training, you can opt out. Here’s how to do it in just a few steps:

How to Stop LinkedIn from Using Your Data in AI Training

  1. Open LinkedIn on a web browser or app.
  2. Click on your profile icon to access Settings.
  3. Scroll down to find “Data Privacy” in the menu. Tap on it to see more options.
  4. Look for the option labeled “Use my data for training content creation AI models.”
  5. Uncheck the slider. Once it’s off, LinkedIn will no longer use your data for AI model training.
