Why Is NVIDIA Driver 595.71 Slowing Down Games, and Is Hotfix 595.76 the Safe Fix?

Is NVIDIA Hotfix 595.76 the Best Fix for 595.71 Performance Drops and Fan Driver Issues?

NVIDIA driver 595.71 caused new problems after it came out on March 2, 2026, and NVIDIA later released hotfix 595.76 to fix some of them. Earlier, driver 595.59 had already been pulled after users reported fan control problems, black screens, and other stability issues.

Driver 595.59 first launched in late February 2026 with support for new games and feature updates. NVIDIA then removed it and told affected users to roll back to driver 591.86 if they saw fan control problems.

NVIDIA replaced that version with 595.71 and said it fixed the earlier fan issue. Soon after, users reported fresh problems, including lower GPU voltage, reduced boost clocks, lower performance, and missing display output.

To address that, NVIDIA released hotfix 595.76 on March 4, 2026. The hotfix specifically targets capped GPU voltage during overclocking, path tracing performance issues in Resident Evil Requiem, visual glitches in that game, Star Citizen crashes, and browser crashes or driver timeouts on HDCP 1.x monitors.
