Can You Make Samsung Widget Text Stand Out? Try This Effective Blurring Trick!

Transparent widgets can make your Samsung home screen look neat, but sometimes, they can be hard to read if the background is too bright or colorful. You can solve this by adding a blur effect behind widgets, making them much easier to see.

Why Blurred Backgrounds Help

  • Boosts readability: Text or numbers in widgets can get lost on a busy wallpaper.
  • Looks clean: The blur keeps the home screen stylish but easy on the eyes.
  • No extra apps: Just use built-in Samsung tools.

Good Lock is an official Samsung app for customizing your phone.

This tool gives you more options to change your home screen.

Step 3: Turn On DIY Home

  1. Launch Home Up within Good Lock.
  2. Tap Home Screen.
  3. Turn on DIY Home.

Step 4: Create a Blank Note

  1. Open the Notes app.
  2. Start a new note.
  3. Enter a period (.) and press Enter about 15 to 20 times.
  4. The dot will move to the bottom, leaving a blank space above it.

Step 5: Add the Notes Widget

  1. Go to your home screen.
  2. Touch and hold an empty part of the screen.
  3. Tap Widgets.
  4. Find Notes, pick the “Bake a Cake” template (or similar), and add it.

Step 6: Make Notes Widget Background Blurred

  1. Long-press the Notes widget.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Drag the transparency slider all the way to the left (not transparent).
  4. Assign it to the blank note you just made.
  5. Now, your widget shows a blurred background with no writing.

Step 7: Add the Widget You Want Blurred

  1. Open the Widgets menu again.
  2. Find the widget you want to fix (like Weather) and add it on top of the Notes widget.
  3. Long-press that widget, choose Settings, then turn off the background.

Step 8: Layer the Widgets

  1. Touch and hold a blank spot on your home screen.
  2. Tap DIY Home (top right).
  3. Move the top widget (for example, Weather) over the blurred Notes widget.
  4. Use the up/down arrow to make sure the one you want to see (Weather) is above the blurred one.

Why This Works

  • The blur comes from the Notes widget.
  • Placing another widget above hides the Notes text.
  • Your real widget looks like it has a blurred background, but you can still tap and use it as normal.
  • Works with many built-in and even third-party widgets.

Extra Tips

  • You can resize widgets, so the blurred area matches exactly.
  • Change the wallpaper for more or less blur effect.
  • If you want to remove the blur, just delete the Notes widget.

What To Do If It Doesn’t Work

  • Make sure Good Lock and all modules are up to date.
  • Some widgets might not let you make the background fully clear.
  • If so, try different widgets or check for app updates.

After trying these steps, your widgets should be much easier to read and your phone’s main screen will look more organized. It gives you control over your phone’s look, helping you feel proud of your home screen setup.
