Problem
When you trying to update Adobe products such as Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Illustrator CS6, but found out the option for Product Registration, Deactivate and Updates are greyed out. No matter how many times you restart your system, it is still wouldn’t allow you to perform updates on Adobe’s product.
This happened usually caused by Adobe unable to find its update server online, and it will disabled the option of Product Registration, Deactivate and Updates. It’s a common issue and not product malfunction error.
Solution
Follow the steps below to solve the greyed out issue for Product Registration, Deactivate and Updates options in Adobe products.
- Open up Adobe Bridge.
- Go to Help > Updates.
- It will launch Adobe Application Manager for update
- Updates your Adobe’s software.
In the event that Helps in Adobe Bridge also greyed out and Adobe Application Manager unable to start, then perform below steps to fix the greyed out updates in Help on Cloud Apps:
For PC
- Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\
- Rename the file AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat to AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat.old
For Mac
- Navigate to Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAmUpdaterInventory/1.0
- Delete the file AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat
Updates option will now be available in the Cloud apps.
