Solved: How do I configure DNS service proxy mode Forward-Only on FortiExtender?

This article describes how DNS service proxy mode Forward-Only on FortiExtender.

When DNS service is on forward-only mode, FortiExtender interface directly forwards all DNS service request to DNS servers, which are defined and acquired on System DNS pool.

Scope

FortiExtender DNS proxy service with forward-only mode.

Solution

Step 1: On FortiExtender go to Networking > DNS Servers.

On FortiExtender go to Networking > DNS Servers.

Step 2: Create DNS Service.

Step 3: On CLI, Check DNS Proxy mode.

On CLI, Check DNS Proxy mode.

Step 4: From CLI, Check DNS servers defined and acquired in DNS pool.

Step 5: From Client, all DNS request will be directly forwarded to DNS servers.
