  • You are using the Desktop version of Microsoft Teams with one of the following licenses: Office 365 E1, Office 365 A1, Office 365/Microsoft 365 A3, Office 365/Microsoft 365 A5, Microsoft 365 E3, Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft 365 F1, Office 365/Microsoft 365 F3, Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Microsoft 365 Business Premium SKUs.
  • Licensed with Microsoft Stream.
  • Permission for Microsoft Stream upload video.
  • Consented to the company guidelines.
  • Sufficient storage in Microsoft Stream for recordings to be saved.
  • TeamsMeetingPolicy-AllowCloudRecording setting set to true.
  • The user is not an anonymous, Guest, or federated user in the meeting.
  • Teams meeting recording feature only available in the following regions: United States, Europe, Asia Pacific, Australia, India, United Kingdom, or Canada.

Solution 1: Remove participants after the meeting ended

Step 1: Logged back into the previous meeting.

Step 2: Select Participants in the meeting toolbar to find out anyone who did not log themselves out from the meeting.

Step 4: Click on the 3 Dots (Ellipses) icon.

Solution 2: Trigger chat service event

Perform the below action to trigger a chat service event and restore the meeting recording link.

Solution 3: Access to the storage location to download the Microsoft Teams meeting recording

According to Microsoft, Teams recording storage locations differ depending on the type of meeting whether channel or non-channel. You can check the RecordingStorageMode by executing the command Get-CsTeamsMeetingPolicy -Identity Global. After that, you can find the recording according to the RecordingStorageMode.

  • If the RecordingStorageMode is OneDriveforBusiness, for non-channel meetings, the meeting recording is stored in the Recordings folder at the top level of the OneDrive for Business that belongs to the person who started the meeting recording.
  • For Channel meetings, the meeting recording is stored in the Recordings folder in the SharePoint Teams site documentation library.

Meeting recordings can only be downloaded by the meeting recorder and organizer. The other attendees will only be able to view it.
