Question
I keep having high CPU resource usage problems on Windows Server 2012 R2 RDS Farm showing disconnected sessions just as many as active sessions.
- Could disconnected sessions instead of signing off of the RDS farm can be a potential contribution to high CPU usage on the RDS Farm?
- Will that help the CPU resource if those disconnected sessions get ‘sign off’?
Answer
A disconnected session could still have applications running that use up the CPU resource. Having users sign off will ensure that any applications they have running are closed. A disconnected session with no apps running will use minimal CPU.
