What and Why

We have identified an issue affecting Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on Linux build101.26052.0009 on a subset of FIPS-enabled Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 and RHEL 9 devices. As a precaution, rollout of this build has been paused.

Current Status: We have paused the rollout and are actively working on a revised build. We will provide an update through the Message Center and release notes when the updated package becomes available.

Rollout Schedule: Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD): We will begin rolling out on mid-July 2026 and expect to complete by late July 2026.

Impact on your organization

Impact: On affected devices, installation or upgrade of the platform package may fail, preventing successful completion of the update process.

What you need to do

  • Do not upgrade to build 101.26052.0009 at this time.
  • Customers who have already upgraded and are not experiencing issues do not need to take immediate action.
