Introduction
Microsoft will add support for the Adaptive Multi‑Rate Wideband (AMR‑WB) codec to improve audio quality for calls placed through Teams Direct Routing. This enhancement will introduce wideband audio capabilities when supported by your Session Border Controller (SBC) and will apply to non‑media‑bypass scenarios where the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) interface negotiates codecs with the Teams service.

General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout will begin in early March 2026 and is expected to complete by mid‑March 2026.
