How does this affect me?

The Enable cross-geo support for Windows 365-based features setting will be turned ON by default for early release cycle environments first and will be rolled out to all supported regions in the following weeks.

When this setting is enabled:

  • Hosted machines and Cloud PC pools can be provisioned in a geography different from your tenant’s country/region.
  • Only limited metadata will be stored in the geography corresponding to your configured tenant country/region.

What action do I need to take?

This message is for awareness, and no action is required unless your organization has compliance restrictions that prevent provisioning resources outside the tenant’s home geography.

In such cases, please contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.
