Introduction
We are retiring the legacy App ID 00000004-0000-0ff1-ce00-000000000000 used for Cloud Voicemail, Skype for Business, and Teams Scheduler services for on-premises Exchange Servers effective December 2025. This change improves security and aligns with modern integration practices.
When this will happen
The retirement will take effect starting December 2025.
How this affects your organization
Who is affected: Organizations using on-premises Exchange Servers that have integrated with Cloud Voicemail, Skype for Business, or Teams Scheduler through the legacy App ID.
What will happen:
- All new requests to the legacy App ID will be blocked after December 2025.
- As previously communicated on MC1158330 and MC1155428, continued service requires enabling the new Partner App IDs.
- If your organization has already enabled the new Partner App IDs, no further action is required.
What you can do to prepare
- Verify that your organization has enabled the new Partner App IDs for Voicemail Services and Teams Scheduler.
- If not, follow the steps outlined in Configure Integration and OAuth between Microsoft Teams services and Exchange Server | Microsoft Learn.
- Communicate this change to your helpdesk and update internal documentation as needed.
