How to Master TFT Set 11 Encounters and Dominate the Game

Riot Games introduces a new mechanic in TFT Set 11: Encounters. These are over 80 random events with legendary units that can help or hinder your game.

In Inkborn Fables, you will meet various spirits and champions throughout the match. They will give you gifts or abilities that can boost or disrupt your journey.

How the TFT Set 11 Encounter mechanic works

Each Encounter is different in its effect, rarity, and timing. They can appear on your board or on the carousel, and offer rewards like gold, rerolls, or items. Some Encounters let you choose, such as feeding Cho’Gath to lose a shop slot but gain rewards, or leaving him hungry.

Other Encounters change the carousel, like Ornn, who gives a random artifact to each unit. Some give temporary rewards, like Sett, who trains your units with dummies. But some Encounters are harmful, like Lillia, who shuffles the augment order.

The most powerful Encounter is Kayn, the Shadow Reaper. He will visit you twice: once at the start to warn you, and once at the end to kill you. When he comes back, he will eliminate all players except one, starting from the lowest health.

TFT Set 11 Encounters tips and strategies

To master Encounters, you need to adapt quickly and think ahead. You will face different Encounters in each game, and you have to decide what is best for your board.

For example, with Cho’Gath, you can sacrifice a shop slot early for rewards, or keep it for later flexibility. With Ornn, you can pick a unit with an artifact that suits your team, whether for damage or defense.

You can try the new Encounter mechanic in TFT Set 11, which launches on March 20 with patch 14.6. You can also test it on PBE servers before the official release.
