Is the Unfair Paramount Plus Price Hike Forcing You to Cancel?

Will the New Paramount Plus Cost Guarantee Incredible New Shows in 2026?

Your Paramount Plus subscription will cost more starting early next year. The company that owns Paramount Plus, Skydance Media, announced that prices will go up on January 15, 2026. This change will affect all subscribers in the United States. This is the third time in three years that the streaming service has increased its cost.

New Monthly Prices

The price for both plans will increase by one dollar. The change helps Paramount Plus keep up with other streaming services like Netflix, Disney Plus, and Hulu, which have also raised their prices.

  • The Paramount Plus Essential plan will go from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. This plan includes ads.
  • The Premium with Showtime plan will go from $12.99 to $13.99 per month. This plan has no ads.

Why Prices Are Changing

Paramount says the extra money will help them create better shows and movies. They also plan to improve how the app works for you. The company is making other changes, too. It will get rid of free trials for new members and is looking at changing its discount offers.

This price hike comes after Skydance Media bought Paramount in August 2025. Even with price increases, the service has been adding new subscribers. It now has nearly 80 million subscribers worldwide.
