This article describes and demonstrates which command to run when troubleshooting license issues showing as expired after upgrades or renewal or showing a trial license on FortiDDoS.
Scope

Solution
Step 1: Validate FortiDDoS both mgmt interfaces can reach FortiGuard services. For more details see the following document: 7.0.1 FortiGuard.
config system interface edit mgmtx <--- required to reach FortiGuard services. set ip x.x.x.x/24 set allowaccess https ping ssh snmp http
Step 2: After mgmt can reach FortiGuard services:
Go to System > FortiGuard. Under ‘Schedule‘ uncheck ‘Override Server‘.
Open SSH to FortiDDoS and run:
exec fortiguard-database_update
Then validate the system status.
CLI: get system status
GUI: System -> FortiGuard.
