This article describes how to recover auth users from auto-backup in case of reboot.

Scope

FortiGate v7.6.x.

Solution

Step 1: Enable the option under global settings:

Step 2: Set auth-session-auto-backup-interval.

Set auth-session-auto-backup-interval.

Step 3: Config after making the above changes.

Step 4: Commands to confirm if the backup has been created:

diagnose firewall auth list <----- List authenticated users database.
fnsysctl ls -la /var/log/auth <----- Check the auth backup file.

Note: This feature is only supported on FortiGate with log disk.
