How to integrate between FortiDeceptor and Secure SMTP mail server

This article explains how to integrate between FortiDeceptor and SMTP mail server through SMTP-TLS.

Solution

Step 1: To set up Mail server Settings select System > Mail server and configure SMTP port to 465, to establish communication with SMTP-TLS as mentioned below, which will be the mail server email account on the SMTP server.

Step 2: Select ‘Creating alert delivery rules’ to create a rule where FortiDeceptor sends an email alert to the recipient email according to the configured rule (for more info, see the following document: Mail Server).

Step 3: Verify the inbox for the recipient user which should be in the configured incident alert.

Step 4: It is also possible to select test mail from the System > Mail server to check communication first between FortiDeceptor and the SMTP server.
